Central Office provides a document-forwarding service. This is designed for foreign clients needing a UK address for service. By taking advantage of this service, clients can provide the Central Office address as their address for service within the jurisdiction. Documents will be received and forwarded on to a pre-agreed email address and postal address. To take advantage of this service, simply complete the template Document Receipt and Forwarding Agreement and remit this to the client for signature. The signed version should be returned to (Hannah Doherty) for processing. Note that each party is a separate client and must sign the agreement. They can all sign the same one or have their own, if you wish. The cost for this service is as per the Rate Card. (Note these are at cost, no Introducer Fee accrues on these Central Office fees). This cost is per client and covers set up and then up to five documents. Where there are many documents being dealt with in a single agreement then it may be possible to agree a discount to the usual rates. Contact the Director of Operations and Compliance for further details. Often counterparties require proof that we have been appointed as process agent. We can confirm this directly to them (eg saying we act as process agent for a term of X years for X and Y and notices received at our registered office pursuant to [name of contract] from time to time will be forwarded by email to an email address authorised by [name of client]. Or, we may sign their standard letter stating that, so long as its terms are acceptable to the Director of Operations and Compliance. If such a letter is required, then typically it is also required that our appointment is for the term of the relevant agreement(s) under which we are to serve a process agent without any right to terminate. If so, we will need to provide the Client with a Warning Notice and have them counter sign it. Also they will need to pay in advance for the entire term of the process agency.
