E-filing

Most court documents have to be filed electronically (and this service applies equally to all methods of court filings) and where a fee needs to be paid, then it can be paid by the COLs using our "Payment By Account" (PBA) number. This allows us to pay court issue fees electronically. The COLs control the PBA account. The facility is limited and ensures that the client is not unduly extended a line of credit. For this reason, the PBA number itself cannot be issued to you. However, the COLs would be happy to add that number and issue the forms at any time. Payments made using the PBA number are disbursements and treated accordingly in the usual course. Of course, you must supply a client/matter number when asking for a document to be filed.

The firm has an e-filing (CE-File) account which is operated by the COLs. If you want a document e-filed, then you must contact the COLs in good time. They will file it and pass on the receipt of filing to you. In the alternative you can contact the Administration Team and ask for your own account.
