Points that apply specifically when seeking to work at another law firm
Notice: you need to give notice to the Director of Operations and Compliance of your intention to work for another firm. We will require you to sign an External Engagement Confirmation to certify your compliance with certain key regulatory and legal obligations.
MySRA: the SRA requires all solicitors to be supervised by a law firm it regulates. Solicitors use the MySRA site to notify the SRA of the firm or firms through which they practise. Accordingly, on taking up another consultancy, colleagues must advise the SRA of this through the MySRA site and upon leaving that other firm must also advise the SRA accordingly.
Conflicts of interest: you must ensure the work you undertake at any other firm does not conflict in any way with your Keystone practice. This is simply a matter of ensuring that you personally have no relevant knowledge that would conflict you from acting.
Notice to the other firm: you must tell the other firm that you also practise through Keystone and inform them of your non-poach and non-solicit restrictive covenants.
