In addition to the administrative support the Administration Team provide, you have access to high-quality round-the-clock secretarial and typing services, through our outsourced arrangement with Document Direct . Document Direct is mainly used for digital dictation, where voice transcription software is not best placed to assist. Document Direct do have a 24 hour core team available, however that is mainly for audio typing. They also have a 24 hour helpdesk available too. Their document production team are available between 6am-midnight. If you know you are going to need some support outside of these times please try to let them know in advance (if possible) and they will usually be able to allocate some resource.
Each lawyer is provided with login details upon joining the firm, dictation is then passed to Document Direct through your mobile phone. We have our own iPhone and Android app called "Dictation&Notes" in the App Store/Play Store. You should download this. Guidance on downloading this app, and on its use, can be found in our iPhone Dictation User Guide and Android Dictation User Guide.

You should always quote the client/matter reference. The cost of the work is usually charged to the file. Where you don't think it's right to charge the client, then Central Office will pick up the cost. This is subject to fair usage.
You are welcome also to use this service on your own account. Charges are £40 an hour or £1.61 per minute of dictation (this does include error checking). You should let Document Direct know when sending work to them if this is the case.
