This is an express exception to the general rule prohibiting your acting in an unbundled way. You can sign a solicitor's certificate in a settlement agreement as part of an unbundled retainer. Unbundled retainers should still be short, but can exceed 10 days in employment law matters. You can offer an unbundled retainer to clients who have not used the firm before. However, you should still comply with the other elements of the guidance on unbundled legal services.
