It's common to work in public spaces, but you need to ensure you don't breach confidentiality. You should not use any Wi-Fi you cannot guarantee is secure. Your phone is secure and you should use that as a hot spot. You will need to ensure any confidential matter is not overheard and no one else can see your screen.
While it's rare, there have been reports of third parties taking pictures of people's screens, even from a distance. You need to be very aware of your surroundings and to be sure your screen is not being overlooked before accessing confidential information.
We highly recommend the use of privacy screens for anyone working away from home. A computer privacy screen is a polarized sheet placed on a screen to limit the viewing angle to approximately 30 degrees on either side. They are inexpensive and very effective, they also reduce glare. If you don't have one, then you should purchase one. They come in different sizes to fit your lap top screen. The screen size is measured diagonally. If you need any assistance with which privacy screen to purchase or fitting it (they just stick on), then please contact the IT Team.
